Happy new year! I hope your holidays were good and that you’ve managed to re-find some semblance of your routine. (Or maybe even some cool new routines.)
On Tuesday this week, Stefanie Flaxman gave us seven ideas for how to thrill your boss, editor, or clients with your writing professionalism.
And on Wednesday, Brian Clark joined me to talk about one of the core ideas that drives Copyblogger — that combination of “killer” (effective strategist and technologist) and “poet” (graceful and skilled wordsmith). As David Ogilvy wrote in Ogilvy on Advertising, “If you are both killer and poet, you get rich.”
We love it when writers get rich, and we’re going to have a lot more to say about that as 2018 moves forward!
The podcasts are still on their holiday hiatus, but we do have one for you if you missed it after Christmas: StudioPress founder Brian Gardner on WordPress trends to keep an eye on for 2018.
And if you’re looking for a little more, I slipped two unofficial posts onto the blog last week.
One’s about designing a process to support your creative productivity. This is the single “hack” I find the most useful to get more work done: How to Build a Trusted Framework that Expands Your Content Creativity.
And the other helps you start thinking about all the different pieces that make up a solid content strategy: How to Connect the Dots that Can Make You a Star.
We’ll catch you with a full schedule of content next week!

I hope 2018 is going to be crazier than 2017 for me.
There are so many plans put in place to get the best out of this year, it’s just the discipline to stick to them that is lacking.
Happy New Year copyblogger

I still miss the “print” button.

I’m not sure why we moved away from that, but I’ll include that in the discussions for our next redesign. π

The new year is a great time for a cool new routine. As is any other time, actually. Rock on.

Agree! I do like to look at my processes and habits at this time of year, and I also like to look at them throughout the year when they seem like they need a refresh. π
