You know what sucks?
Talking to money people. Whether they want to buy you or invest in you, it’s just no fun.
And that’s if you can get their attention in the first place.
We’ve had those discussions ourselves earlier this year, and our answer is still no. It may always stay that way.
But I’ll tell you what doesn’t suck.
Creating something that people value. Something that they want to buy. Something that they’ll in turn tell their friends, family, and social networks to buy as well.
I’ll never get tired of that. And I’ll never cease being honored to be able to provide value that people are willing to pay for.
The best way to raise money?
Create something that solves a problem or satisfies a desire. Get people to know, like, and trust you enough to provide you the honor of solving that problem or satisfying that desire.
Way more gratifying than begging the spreadsheet set. And then, ironically, they all want to talk to you.

Funny how, when you play hard people tend to give their money and be thankful because they’ve made you rich.
it’s what we call social approval.

Lesson learned – begging sucks! Sometimes its 10 times harder to make it on your own. That just means its 10 times more satisfying when you do.
I totally agree with your Brian. I would much rather create something that solves a problem or satisfies a desire.
Let me assure you that Copyblogger does that and then some 🙂

Justin, you’re right!
I’m now in the “hard stage”… but it will be more satisfying. Hopefully.

Brian,
I have internalized the importance of creating content that solves a problem because of the YOU and I will be forever grateful.
You set the bar high my friend and I love it!
Love Me Some Copyblogger!

Is it me or are the posts getting smaller?
Brian Clark says
Some are, but they are also coming twice as many. You’ll still get a longer post each day, still no charge.

What? No Shark Tank audition required?
The method you suggest doesn’t seem to include any magic or “secrets”. Humph!
